FAQ's......FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Mostly obvious answers, but here goes..... (All Q's have been asked and these are the answers I have given).

What sort of a business are you?
I am not a business in any way, shape or form.  I am just a hobbyist who sells the things he makes so that he can replace the tools and equipment that inevitably wears out when making the things he makes.

Do you take commissions?
If you’d like me to consider making something for you, please ring me and I can consider it.  I do not make large items, and I only make items for which I have the rescued materials, unless you would like to furnish me with all of the materials that would be needed.  I only have a small workshop so the making of bulk items (i.e. commercial manufacturing) would be way out of my league.  I could do small batch work (1-50) if I have the time to do so and the project is an interesting one for me.  I am, after all, just an ol’ git with a good workshop – I am not looking to make a living, or even just a profit.

Can I return an item that I have chosen from a photo on your pages?
Ring me (note my opening hours) and we’ll talk about it.  I am reasonable.
Otherwise, just refer to ‘RETURNS’.

Can I come to the workshop to choose my items, or even just to have a look?
Yes.  Just ring me so that I can be ready to receive you, and I am not doing some task or other somewhere deep in the nature reserve that I run voluntarily for the Parish Council.  Don't expect to see a factory.  If you collect from the workshop and the item you want is 'free UK delivery', you will be given a £4 discount as it doesn't need to be posted.  And you get to see ME - BONUS!

So, if you are not a business, how come you are selling stuff on-line?
Well, I would love to NOT sell stuff, but I do not have the space to store it and, even though I don’t make a profit from my ‘stuff’, I sell it so that people can enjoy it all........... or give it as gifts for the people they don’t like.

Can I order 100 of the same item?
Certainly, if you don't need them all to be completely identical to one another and if you can wait a long time and if I have the necessary rescued materials and if the project is small and I am not holidaying away and if ….
I possibly could, but I am neither a business nor a manufacturer.  Ring me and we can talk.  I am just an ol’ git with a good workshop.    Perhaps small items for a restaurant or similar might stand a better chance....especially if I get a free meal out!

Are you 100% British and use 100% British materials?
Yes.
I only use rescued materials for my projects…..but where they originated is not within my knowledge, so as they are locally sourced I consider them to be local materials and so therefore British.
So far as my own origin is concerned, I was born in Leicester.  The colour of my outer coating is not any business of anyone but me, and anyway, we are all the same colour when skinned.

Can you personalise any items?
Very probably.  Ring me and we can chat.
I have small CNC machines which can carve and pyro, and I can apply vinyl.

However, technology takes time, so don’t be impatient!   Small, hand applied pyrography can be done, but talk to me about how much detail is required.

What are your payment options?

You pay by any means that I have shown, or I don't sell it to you.  Is there any other option?

WHAT IS YOUR RETURN POLICY?

Whilst I appreciate that every purchaser has the right to a refund if the products is not up to a reasonable standard of manufacture for a hobbyist, I cannot really refund the purchase price if the purchaser has selected an individual item which has been adequately displayed in the graphic communication.   Each item is individually hand-crafted, and I have clearly stated that not all items will be identical to any image displayed.  However, should you, the purchaser, decide that the item is not up to the expected standard for a single item; hand-crafted, unique and made from recycled wood materials, I am prepared to offer a full refund of the item cost (less the realistic cost of the shipping, of course) upon receipt of the item here, at the workshop, if the item is received in the same condition as it was originally despatched; the cost of the return being borne fully by the purchaser (the return cost being taken as the shipping cost to be deducted from the full purchase price).
It has been clearly stated that I am a hobbyist, not a commercial enterprise – I cannot be expected to refund just because someone turns their nose up at it when it arrives.  I am not a retail company - just an ol' git.
